Meopen exists to give lost people hope. In a world where fear and despair are fed to us constantly, a place of light is needed to spark an awakening. This light exists in the form of hope, and it is why we are here. I pray that this website will become that place of light.
Far too many people wander aimlessly through life simply “hoping” their circumstances will get better by chance. This is not hope! Hope is absolute assurance of something that has not yet arrived. When we were children, we eagerly awaited the moment when we could open the present we just knew was waiting for us under the tree. This present contained the thing that we desired more than anything for months. That is months of hope fulfilled! Without hope, we are a wandering lot aimlessly moving through life. Hope changes this!
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
1 Peter 3:15
At Meopen, we believe that Jesus Christ is the form of our greatest hope. I am often touched by 1 Peter 3:15. How can one give an answer for the hope that is in them without telling a story? After all, this is what so many in the Bible actually did. If we do not know our personal story, I must conclude then that we cannot give an answer for the hope that is in us.
And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 5:3-5
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28
In Romans 5:3-5, we see that tribulations are the road to building hope. Our troubles in life are how God builds hope, and those troubles form great stories that define who we are. To give a reason for the hope that is in us, we must rejoice in our past trials and recognize them as God’s way to build hope in us. After all, all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. God created each of us with a purpose in mind. Why else would he have created us?
I think a great example of how tragedy can be used for good is displayed in the video above. We can also see how repeatedly telling his story changed this man for the better. What Donald Davis says in this video defines perfectly the principles of what we at Meopen believe. In telling our story, we help define the hope that is in us in a way that can give us a positive perspective for the future. Telling our story gives our lives focus and helps us define who we are.
In a world where so many people follow the crowd, a man/woman that knows who they are and lives on their principles is a truly rare gem. This person can find their purpose and fulfill their destiny, and it starts with the narration of their hope. Meopen focuses on helping people narrate their story and find hope. In this way, we aim to help many wandering souls find the hope they so desperately need.
